While Stanislas liam o brien Wawrinka prepare for the Mutua Madrid Open, the Swiss ATPWorldTour.com exclusively revealed how mutual trust and respect have been the basis of their work for 12 months with Magnus Norman.
The first seeds of its total transformation were harvested 12 months ago, when he won the title of Portugal Open, his first ATP World Tour title in more than two years.
In an exclusive interview with ATPWorldTour.com, Wawrinka acknowledged, "I felt after that tournament liam o brien he had achieved something special. Not just for the title, because no one had won two years ago [from the Aircel Chennai Open in 2011], but also . overcome a tough opponent like David who was World No. 4 and very difficult to cope especially in the end I knew something good would come. ";
The win at the National Stadium came just two weeks after starting liam o brien his work with Magnus Norman, a former World No. 2, which saw its cut short by injury at age 28 race. At the time of their marriage, Wawrinka said, "I have no doubt that we will achieve fruits liam o brien with hard work and dedication."
The work of Norman Thomas Johansson and Robin Soderling, who remains the only player to beat Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros in 2009, had called attention to Wawrinka.
"What he did with Robin was fantastic and so I struggled to have him," Wawrinka said. "When I started with Magnus was sure he had something special as a player and coach. Did not expect everything to be as good as it has been, but I'm very happy that he is a big part of my success."
Wawrinka spent 22 weeks in the Top 10 of the ATP Ranking Emirates in 2008, the year he won the gold medal in doubles at the Beijing Olympics with Roger Federer, but his compatriot Yves Allegro believed he was not ready to leave a mark most enduring in the elite.
"In my opinion, in 2008, Stan was already a great player, liam o brien but I was not ready, not yet mature enough as a person and player to stay in the Top 10," said Allegro to ATPWorldTour.com. "Used liam o brien to be a t
